Bernard S. Cohen was an American civil liberties attorney and Democratic politician. He was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates between 1980 to 1996. He was born in New York City.

On April 10, 1967, he presented oral argument for the petitioners in Loving v. Virginia before the U. S. Supreme Court. On June 12, 1967, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Cohens clients, declaring bans on interracial marriage unconstitutional.

Cohen died on October 12, 2020 in Fredericksburg, Virginia from problems caused by Parkinsons disease-related deaths, aged 86.
